We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Sales and Marketing to lead system-wide sales and marketing initiatives for a premier nonprofit senior living organization in Southfield, MI.
This leadership role is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating sales strategies, marketing campaigns, occupancy growth initiatives, and move-in processes across multiple senior living communities. The Director will oversee marketing staff, develop data-driven strategies, and ensure maximum occupancy and revenue performance.
This is a high-impact role ideal for a senior living sales leader with strong CRM experience, team management expertise, and a deep understanding of the aging services market.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Occupancy Growth
• Develop and execute system-wide sales and marketing strategies to achieve maximum occupancy
• Establish short- and long-range sales goals, revenue expectations, and quota structures
• Monitor and analyze performance metrics, lead conversions, and census trends
• Identify and develop new resident markets for senior living communities
• Oversee move-in processes to ensure seamless resident transitions
Marketing & Brand Development
• Direct comprehensive marketing campaigns across digital, print, and community channels
• Develop advertising strategies aligned with organizational goals and market conditions
• Oversee the preparation and distribution of promotional materials and exhibits
• Coordinate participation in promotional events and trade shows
• Conduct and analyze market research to guide strategic planning
Leadership & Team Management
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate sales and marketing staff
• Provide coaching and development to ensure high performance
• Coordinate system-wide training on fair housing compliance and regulatory standards
• Oversee daily operations of the sales and marketing department
Financial & Operational Oversight
• Develop and manage sales and marketing budgets
• Evaluate ROI, profit/loss projections, and financial performance indicators
• Prepare statistical and performance reports using CRM and reporting software
• Recommend policies and operational improvements related to sales and marketing
Community & Public Relations
• Represent the organization within the community and maintain external partnerships
• Build relationships with referral sources and external organizations
• Promote senior living services throughout the Southfield and broader Michigan market
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
• Minimum 5+ years of management-level sales and/or marketing experience
• Experience in senior living, aging services, long-term care, or healthcare marketing strongly preferred
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience leading teams
• Proven experience structuring sales quotas and revenue goals
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with CRM platforms such as Sherpa CRM, WelcomeHome, Enquire Solutions, Advantage Anywhere, or similar systems
• Strong ability to analyze data, forecasting, and reporting metrics
Other Requirements
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
• Ability to work extended or non-traditional hours as needed
• Knowledge of fair housing regulations and healthcare compliance standards
