Director of Product - Fleet Operations (f/m/d)

As a Director of Product- Fleet Operations, you will drive the product strategy and technical vision for our Fleet Operation & Monitoring as well as Guided Installation teams, also having impact on the entire Energy Platform domain with more than 60 people. Whilst bringing our internal tooling (e.g., Dashboards, software for PV and heat pump installers, PV plant monitoring systems) to the next level and shaping its future vision, you work closely with the IoT and Cloud teams to ensure the right data strategy. This Domain is currently being shaped and significantly expanded to secure the next growth phase for Enpal and you should be the core building block in shaping its future. You bring extensive product and leadership experience, a strong technical background and curiosity to dive deep when needed. Energy and/or IoT knowledge is a big plus.

At Enpal, you will be responsible for:     

• Product Vision & Strategy: Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for monitoring, fleet operations (do devices function as intended?) and bring our Enpal tooling to external installers. Translate business requirements into technical solutions while maintaining a balance between platform requirements, system integration needs, and business goals.    
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Lead complex technical efforts across multiple teams, working closely with engineering and domain teams to create and implement standards for high-performance data engineering, monitoring and operation solutions. Support key stakeholders like asset management or customer service by building tailored solutions for them. 
• Stakeholder Management & Communication: Drive alignment across the organization by managing stakeholders at all levels. Provide high-level reporting on key initiatives, metrics, and OKRs. Transform complex technical challenges into clear business value propositions.     
• Technical Product Development: Own the product lifecycle from discovery to delivery, prioritizing features and capabilities based on business impact and technical constraints. Develop and maintain a comprehensive technical landscape overview that showcases system integration points, data flows, and architectural dependencies to enable other teams and support platform scalability.   
• Technical Problem Solving: Drive technical decisions through a deep understanding of system integration requirements, platform needs, and data exchange constraints. Engage with engineering teams, hardware specialists, and other technical stakeholders to gather insights and balance competing needs for optimal solution development.  
• Developer Engagement: Ensure continuous alignment with engineering teams - provide context around the “why” behind decisions. Promote a culture where developers feel ownership of technical outcomes, driving developer productivity and creativity. 
• Leadership: You'll have freedom to largely shape the domain and take responsibility for 2-3 existing teams.  

• You have a strategic mindset, technical depth, and a passion for enabling teams with the right data.    
• You have a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions for complex business problems.    
• You have 10+ years of technical product management experience, with demonstrated success in managing complex data engineering pipelines or highly scalable software products and driving cross-team initiatives.     
• You have extensive leadership experience managing other product managers/engineering organizations. 
• You have software engineering experience in cloud microservice architecture to understand the problems and platform needs of other teams – IoT and energy industry experience is also a huge plus.  
• You have a strong technical background with an understanding of data architectures, API design, integration patterns while having the ability to participate in technical discussions and make informed architectural decisions regarding system interconnectivity.   
• You have outstanding communication skills in both English and German, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to various audiences and drive alignment across teams.   
• You have a proven track record of shipping successful products and features, with experience in agile methodologies and product development processes.     
• You excel in product discovery, prioritization, and roadmap development, with the ability to balance technical debt, feature development, and business needs.     
• You have strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making experience and the ability to define and track relevant metrics.     
• You have a self-driven mindset with the ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments, take ownership, and drive results.     
• You have a pragmatic approach to product development with focus on iterative improvements while maintaining high standards for data quality and scalability of system integrations.
