Overview
A large, high-acuity women’s services program in the Austin market is seeking an experienced Director of Postpartum to provide strategic and operational leadership across postpartum and lactation services.
This role oversees a high-volume Mother/Baby program, ensuring exceptional patient-centered care, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and team engagement. The Director partners closely with nursing leadership, physicians, and executive stakeholders to support growth, quality outcomes, and an outstanding patient experience.
Responsibilities
• Provide executive-level leadership for postpartum and lactation services
• Oversee daily operations, staffing, forecasting, and budget management across the department
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered postpartum care aligned with evidence-based practices
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards of care in compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements
• Lead initiatives to improve patient throughput, care coordination, and discharge planning
• Promote interdisciplinary collaboration across women’s services, neonatal care, and ancillary departments
• Monitor clinical quality indicators, patient satisfaction metrics, and operational performance
• Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and professional development
• Support leadership development, succession planning, and staff engagement initiatives
• Champion an exceptional postpartum and family-centered patient experience
Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum 3+ years of leadership experience (Supervisor level or higher)
• Clinical and leadership experience in Postpartum, Mother/Baby, and/or Labor & Delivery settings
Preferred:
• Experience leading large teams within high-volume women’s services programs
• Strong background in quality, patient experience, and operational performance
