As Director of People & Workplace, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping how our organization grows, operates, and experiences work. You will lead various aspects of the People and Workplace function, driving both strategy and execution to deliver impactful People initiatives that support the business and create an excellent employee experience.
This role sits at the intersection of people strategy, operational excellence, and employee advocacy. You will ensure that our People programs scale effectively, reflect an employee-centric mindset, and have a meaningful, company-wide impact.


What to expect:
• People Leadership & Strategy• Shape the organization’s culture to reflect its values and mission by fostering an inclusive work environment. 
• Lead the People function across a broad portfolio of initiatives, ensuring alignment with People goals and business priorities. 
• Guiding the organization through an internal AI transformation. 
• Drive the overall People strategy and operating model, translating strategic direction into clear objectives, policies, and programs with companywide impact.
• Own key People programs and act as a strategic partner to senior leaders across the organization. This includes:• Partner with Maltego’s Senior Leadership team to design and implement comprehensive recruitment and employer branding strategies to attract top-tier talent, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring processes. Forecast hiring needs and build a multi-year headcount roadmap aligned with the company’s financial goals.
• Evaluate company structure and design to achieve business goals through workforce planning and talent management. 
• Own programs and initiatives across the organization to foster a work environment that supports employees' experience and well-being. 
• Own payroll end-to-end, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance, in close partnership with Finance and external providers.

• Review HR metrics and analytics to measure the effectiveness of People Programs and make data-driven recommendations to improve processes.
• Oversee learning and development programs that enhance employee skills, career growth, and leadership development. 
• Own the Workplace experience with the Workplace Manager to ensure employee satisfaction in the Munich office and in other satellite offices. 

• Employee Centric Experience• Contribute to defining and embedding an employee-centric and performance mindset across the People organization. Promote open and effective communication between employees and management. 
• Ensure the employee perspective is consistently reflected in all People initiatives, decisions, and processes.
• Lead the discovery of new areas, ideas, and approaches to continuously improve the end-to-end employee experience.

• Operational Excellence & Governance• Drive operational excellence across core People programs, ensuring high quality, consistency, and scalability, including with AI.
• Strategically allocate budget and resources to maximize impact and efficiency across the People function.
• Design and oversee HR frameworks that scale across multiple legal entities
• Periodically audit compensation and benefits packages against market data to ensure the company remains competitive, while maintaining internal equity across different legal entities.


Your profile in short:
• 8+ years in a SaaS company in a people operation. 5+ years in a leadership role. 

• Proven ability to lead multiple teams and complex People initiatives simultaneously.

• Strong experience driving both People strategy and day-to-day operations.

• Demonstrated employee-centric mindset with the ability to balance employee needs and business outcomes.

• Strong knowledge of labor and employment laws in EMEA and the US. 

• Highly effective at prioritization, resource allocation, and budget ownership.

• Curious, forward-thinking, and motivated to explore new ways of shaping an excellent employee experience.


About this opening:
This role is based at Maltego’s Munich headquarters, with at least 3 days per week onsite.
