Job Summary:

We are seeking a high-caliber Director of Manufacturing Operations to lead our production operations. In this role, you will oversee the end-to-end manufacturing process for complex ordnance and energetic systems, ensuring that we meet rigorous defense standards while driving operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader who balances a "safety-first" mindset with the technical precision required for high-stakes defense contracting. The Director of Manufacturing Operations will develop and implement manufacturing strategies that are in line with corporate objectives to achieve operational excellence, increase productivity, and foster business expansion.

Responsibilities:

• Production Strategy & Execution: Develops and executes annual and long term (5-year) manufacturing plans aligned to overall business strategy and operational objectives to meet delivery schedules, quality benchmarks, and cost objectives.

• Regulatory & Safety Leadership: Ensures 100% compliance with ATF, DCMA, and DoD regulations. Maintain an industry-leading safety program tailored to the handling of energetic materials and hazardous processes.

• Operational Excellence: Implements Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, improve yields, and shorten lead times.

• Facility & Capacity Management: Oversees plant maintenance, equipment upgrades, and capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects to ensure the facility can meet increasing mission demands.

• Supply Chain Integration: Works closely with procurement to manage long-lead times for critical materials and mitigate supply chain risks.

• Quality Assurance: Partners with the Quality Department to ensure all products meet customer end item requirements.

• Workforce Development: Fosters a positive and collaborative work environment to lead, mentor, and scale a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and floor operators.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, business administration, or a related field or equivalent education and experience

• 15+ years related experience in operations roles

• In-depth knowledge of aerospace and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) manufacturing processes, CI, quality control, procurement and supply chain management.

• Understanding assembly of complex electromechanical systems, and handling and assembly of energetics/explosives.

• Must be eligible and capable of obtaining/maintaining a U.S. Security Clearance.

• Familiarity with DOD 4145.26M Contractor Safety Manual for Ammunition and Explosives, ISO9000/AS9100 quality standards and ITAR/EAR export controls.

• Strong leadership and strategic planning skills

• Ability to communicating effectively with shop-floor technicians to C-suite executives

• Financial acumen and budget management experience.

• Adaptability to industry changes and technological advancements.

The salary range represents the base salary range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors. Those include but are not limited to location, experience, and performance.
