Position: Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)

Secretly Group is a U.S.-based independent music company founded in 1996 and headquartered in Bloomington, Indiana. It operates as a multi-label group, creative services platform and music publishing company focused on artist development and long-term catalog value. Notable artists include Bon Iver, Mitski, Khruangbin, Phoebe Bridgers and Japanese Breakfast.
With offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and London, affiliated labels include The Numero Group, Ghostly International, drink sum wtr, Merge Records, and Sacred Bones Records. All labels share infrastructure and common distribution through Secretly Distribution, the distribution and services arm founded in 1997, operating as an enterprise level, global music distributor for independent labels and artists. Secretly Distribution is widely recognized as one of the largest independent music distributors today.
The Director of FP&A will lead financial forecasting and analysis across all business units, including record labels, music distribution, and music publishing. This will require extensive experience in financial modeling, deal analysis, and financial reporting, ideally with music industry knowledge. This role will report to the CFO and work closely with executives of each business unit.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain financial models to inform quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and variance analyses across all business units.
Analyze a wide variety of potential deals including label/artist deals, distribution, publishing, and mergers and acquisitions.
Continuously optimize FP&A processes and standards, identifying opportunities for improvement and automation.
Develop and report on the key performance indicators most relevant to each business unit leader.
Analyze business activity and industry trends to support strategic decisions
Identify and implement tools to improve FP&A and other business operations
Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as requested by senior management
The Ideal Candidate’s Qualifications Include:
Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, business, or other quantitative fields.
5-10 years of experience with financial analysis, financial reporting, and deal analysis
Advanced Excel skills with a deep understanding of model architecture and efficiency
Experience preparing and/or interpreting financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flows.
Talent for cultivating relationships across business units and functions
High degree of aptitude with large data sets and tech savvy orientation
Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and simply
Proven process management skills
Experience implementing new systems or organization-wide changes
Advanced financial certifications preferred (CPA, CMA, CFA, etc.)
Music industry experience preferred

NYC Salary Range: $135,000-$175,000 base (plus annual bonus) commensurate with experience
