Position Summary:
The Director of Financial Accounts is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s financial operations, with a primary focus on Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP). This leadership role ensures accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in all financial transactions, while providing strategic insights to support decision-making. The Director will supervise and mentor a team of two employees, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of AR and AP functions, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and on time.
Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes in coordination with leadership.
Monitor cash flow, forecast revenue and expenses, and provide regular financial reports to executive leadership.
Collaborate with department heads to ensure alignment of financial practices with organizational goals.
Review and approve all vendor payments, payroll transactions, and customer invoices.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement technology solutions where appropriate.
Lead, train, and evaluate the performance of two finance team members, providing guidance and professional development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of AR, AP, and general ledger accounting.
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel expertise required).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and inspire a small team.
