The Lebanon Valley Home is currently accepting applications for a full-time exempt Director of Environmental Services to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry services in our small continuing care retirement community.
Responsibilities:
Maintain departments according to federal and state regulations and professional standards;
Assist in the development, administrator, interpretation, and coordination of departmental procedures;
Assume responsibility for obtaining and maintaining the master binder of SDSs for hazardous chemicals;
Direct the day to day functions of employees under the position's supervision;
Make written and oral reports and recommendations to the Executive Director concerning the operation of the department;
Assist in preparing and maintaining the department's budget;
Perform routine visual inspections of the facility to assess and ensure a safe, sanitary, well-maintained environment for residents, staff, and guests;
Ensure the routine maintenance program is maintained;
Provide for repair of equipment, as needed;
Ensure required testing and inspection of emergency equipment and systems;
Ensure the required scheduling and implementation of fire and disaster drills and evaluate overall performance of drills;
Lead facility safety committee; serve on or attend various meetings and committees;
Interview, hire, orient, schedule, and manage employees for the departments within supervision;
Collaborate with other departments and departmental leaders to support the overall mission of the organization; and,
Other duties as needed and as requested.
Requirements:
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency;
Must have at least two years experience in a supervisory capacity;
Must have knowledge and experience with utility systems and general building maintenance and repair;
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors, guests, government agencies, and contractors;
Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel;
Must possess basic computer skills.
