Director of Detailing & Technical Delivery

Steelhead is looking for a senior, results-driven Director of Detailing & Technical Delivery to lead and scale how we execute – from detailing through production.

This role owns the speed, accuracy, and scalability of all technical deliverables, ensuring work is fully buildable and aligned with production execution. You will lead the systems, people, and priorities that keep work flowing, eliminate bottlenecks, and drive consistent, high-quality delivery across teams.

While this is a senior leadership role, it requires deep, hands-on CAD expertise – you must be able to step into drawings, review, redline, and create fabrication-ready detailing when needed.

This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in high-volume, show-driven environments, values standardization and reuse, and knows how to turn complexity into repeatable systems.

What You'll Do

Lead and scale the Detailing and Production teams, ensuring accountability, quality, and consistent throughput 

Own intake, prioritization, and release of work in alignment with PMO schedules and project demands 

Build and enforce standardized systems, assemblies, and methods to drive efficiency, reuse, and quality 

Define and uphold fabrication-ready release standards for custom exhibit builds to minimize rework and downstream disruption 

Forecast demand and optimize team capacity to maintain delivery speed without linear headcount growth 

Own production execution outcomes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to Steelhead quality standards 

Establish and maintain production standards across safety, workflows, equipment readiness, and operational consistency 

Oversee subcontracted production and specialty purchasing to ensure alignment with project and cost expectations 

Provide hands-on technical leadership by reviewing, redlining, and contributing to fabrication-ready detailing when needed 

Develop leaders and drive continuous improvement across detailing and production through process, tooling, and automation

What We’re Looking for

Proven leadership experience in detailing, production, or fabrication within trade shows, exhibits, events, millwork, or similar custom build environments 

Strong CAD background with the ability to review and contribute to technical drawings for exhibit or custom fabrication projects 

Deep understanding of fabrication methods, materials, and production processes 

Experience scaling teams and output through systems, standards, and process improvement 

Ability to translate creative concepts into buildable, efficient solutions 

Strong operational mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment 

Confident communicator who can set priorities, drive alignment, and hold a high bar for execution 

Work Schedule
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Las Vegas. 

Our standard hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. 

Due to the nature of production and show schedules, additional hours—including occasional evenings and weekends—may be required to support project deadlines and ensure successful execution.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Combination of office and production shop environment 

Extended periods of computer-based work 

Regular interaction with production, warehouse, and fabrication teams 

Ability to move through active workspaces and engage with shop operations 

Exposure to noise, dust, heat, and moving equipment in production areas
