Director of Compounding Pharmacy Operations

We are seeking a Director of Compounding Operations to lead our growing Towncrest Wellness Apothecary compounding practice. This role requires an experienced pharmacy leader who is passionate about personalized medicine, operational excellence, and building sustainable compounding services that deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Reporting directly to Towncrest Pharmacy Corporation leadership, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our non-sterile compounding program, mentoring staff, ensuring regulatory excellence, and driving innovation across the apothecary.

General Job Duties: Specific duties will include, but not be limited to:

Lead day-to-day operations of Towncrest’s non-sterile compounding labs, ensuring alignment with production schedules, quality standards, and patient care priorities.

Cultivate a strong culture of safety, compliance, and excellence in accordance with USP <795>, USP <800>, state Board of Pharmacy standards, and Towncrest policies.

Manage and mentor a high-performing team of pharmacists, compounding technicians, and support staff.

Oversees the daily workflow of the pharmacy to ensure that the pharmacy has the necessary coverage by a pharmacist and technician(s). 

Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to support workflow optimization, service growth, and operational sustainability.

Identify root causes of workflow or production challenges and implement corrective actions to ensure consistency and efficiency.

Develop, standardize, and maintain SOPs, policies, and best practices across all non-sterile compounding services.

Collaborate closely with functional medicine providers, clinical teams, and leadership to align compounding solutions with individualized care plans.

Partner with inventory and purchasing teams to maintain appropriate stock levels of chemicals, supplies, and compounding materials.

Support innovation in compounding formulations, dosage forms, and patient-specific therapies.

Produce timely operational and compliance reports, participating in strategic planning and growth initiatives.
