Role Overview
The Director of Communications & Brand Experience defines how Tribe X brands show up in the world shaping narrative, reputation, and real world experiences that build meaning, relevance, and connection.
This role leads the communications and brand experience strategy pillar, ensuring every campaign expresses a clear brand truth and narrative consistently across PR, content, social, and on-ground experiences. It bridges storytelling with experience design, and partners closely with Growth/Media for performance planning and delivering measurable impact.
What You’ll Do
Lead Communications & Brand Experience Strategy
Define and own communications and brand experience strategy across key client accounts, including PR, earned narrative arcs, cultural relevance, and experience-led activations.
Ensure every expression of the brand is grounded in truth, culturally fluent, and aligned to a cohesive narrative across all touchpoints (media, content, social, PR, and activations).
Shape how brands earn attention and relevance through narrative clarity and meaningful participation in culture.
Lead
Integrated, Narrative Led Strategy
Ensure integrated strategy aligns to the brand narrative by partnering closely with (Client Partners, Creative, Content/Social, and Growth/Media).
Lead strategic planning from insight to idea, defining channel roles, shaping experience moments, and aligning measurement approaches in partnership with Growth and Media.
Ensure communications and brand experience strategies are designed with both creative impact and performance outcomes in mind.
Build and Evolve the PR & Brand Experience Function
Build and evolve the PR and Brand Experience discipline at Tribe X by defining team structure, required capabilities, hiring priorities and role scopes.
Develop and manage the agency/vendor ecosystem needed to support scalable delivery.
Establish clear delivery processes that enable consistent, high quality output across PR and brand experience strategy.
Own Standards of Excellence
Establish and maintain templates, playbooks, and standards of excellence for communications and brand experience strategy and execution.
Ensure consistency, quality, and strategic clarity across all outputs.
Drive Strategic Learning and Optimization
Drive post-campaign learning loops to assess what landed culturally, what moved reputation/awareness, and what should be refined.
Partner with Growth and Media to interpret performance and apply learnings to future strategy.
Apply insights from performance, culture, and audience response to continuously refine narrative and experience strategy.
Senior Leadership & Client Influence
Build client confidence in communications and brand experience strategy through clear narrative direction, structured thinking, and consistent delivery.
Represent the communications and brand experience perspective in planning sessions and key moments, ensuring alignment across teams.
Guide the communications and brand experience team by setting clear direction/expectations, fostering high standards and strategic ownership.

You will operate with a high degree of autonomy and trust, contributing as a senior voice within both client engagements and internal leadership forums. This role is designed for someone who shapes direction, builds systems, and remains deeply involved in the work while setting the standard for others.
