ROLE SUMMARY:

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior engineer to join our exchange markets team, working for the CIO, focusing on high performance computing and low latency platforms.  

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

• Solution Architecture: Collaborate with sales, clients, and internal leaders to translate complex business needs into technical specifications; architect software, hardware, and network solutions aligned with LSEG standards.

• Observability & Monitoring: Enhancing monitoring platforms to maximize system health/uptime, ensuring deep visibility for root cause analysis and system/application performance.

• Performance Engineering: Optimize application, system, and kernel performance (CPU affinity, NUMA balancing, IO, network kernel bypass, HugePages, IRQ tuning) to meet extreme market trading demands.

• Reliability & Analysis: Lead root cause analysis and implement structured, long-term solutions to ensure system stability during extreme market conditions.

• Automation & DevOps: Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Ansible) and develop Python-based automation tools to enhance operational efficiency.

• Innovation: Research and implement new technologies or in-house enhancements to drive system evolution.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• Background: Experience in technical sales/consulting, architecture of low latency financial services trading platforms.

• Linux & Systems: Expert in Linux debugging, provisioning, and administration with deep experience in kernel/hardware tuning (CPU pinning, BIOS/UEFI, TuneD, Low Latency Networking).

• Networking: Strong command of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, UDP/Multicast, and packet analysis.

• Tooling: Proficient in Python, CI/CD, and Git. Strong experience with monitoring/observability stacks.

• Soft Skills: Analytical problem solver and proactive collaborator ready to set technical direction, mentor colleagues, and navigate a high-performance environment without need for micromanagement.
