About the role: What's in the Box

The Director of Group Accounting & Reporting plays a crucial role in preparing our consolidated annual and quarterly financial reports for the capital markets. You will ensure the consistent application of IFRS accounting policies across the HelloFresh Group and act as the subject matter expert for complex reporting matters. This position involves leading a team (~4 FTEs), partnering with global finance teams, and driving significant improvements in reporting processes and technology adoption.

What you’ll do: The Recipe

• Lead the preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the HelloFresh Group, ensuring transparent, clear, accurate, and timely disclosure to capital markets.

• Meaningfully impact the Global Finance team by implementing and improving finance and reporting processes and tools, focusing on applying technology, data, and automation.

• Act as a thought leader and key partner on accounting policy choices, judgment areas, and their financial reporting implications, driving compliance with IFRS standards.

• Ensure the integrity of financial data by implementing robust internal controls, conducting regular checks to identify and mitigate risks, and acting as a key partner to our Group auditors.

• Manage and inspire a team, providing direction and guidance while empowering them to make decisions within set parameters.

• Collaborate closely with global finance teams to ensure accurate and complete financial data and effectively communicate critical, highly complex information to all levels of the organization.

• Provide accounting and technical oversight on corporate finance topics, including business valuations, impairment testing, and WACC assumptions, working closely with FP&A and external advisors

What you’ll bring: The Ingredients

• ~10+ years of relevant experience in Auditing and/or Group Reporting, gained either within one of the Big Four consultancies or a sizeable, growth-oriented company.

• Accounting Knowledge: Possess expert-level knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standards and group consolidation principles.

• Strategic Capability: The capacity to identify future threats to the business and take action to minimize impact, while proactively seeking opportunities aligned with business needs.

• Analytical Skills: Sound analytical and logical reasoning skills, capable of analyzing and presenting complex data to inform decision-making.

• Communication: Fluent in English, with German skills being a plus; the ability to articulate a clear point of view and discuss it constructively with senior stakeholders.

• Entrepreneurial Mindset: Acts like an entrepreneur and consistently approaches situations with a growth mindset, bringing learnings and experience into action to achieve higher impact results
