Location: Barcelona - Spain (3 days working from the office and 2 days working from home)

In short, strong SFE capabilities are at the core of this and will secure the long-term success for the BBU and AZ overall.  

The Global Sales Force Excellence team forms part of Global Insight & Business Excellence, playing a critical role in defining the roadmap for future success. Ensuring that the required SFE capabilities are developed across the BBU.

Accountabilities: 

As Director, Global Sales & Account excellence, we are seeking a visionary candidate whose primary responsibility is to shape the future of AstraZeneca's commercial field force capabilities strategy. This role emphasizes: 

• Drive enterprise-wide sales and account excellence by leading a step change in field force capabilities, identifying the critical capabilities AstraZeneca must strengthen across brands and markets to improve execution and impact. 

• Shape the future commercial model by identifying and embedding the capabilities needed to support AstraZeneca’s evolving portfolio and future strategic priorities. 

• Account working excellence, enabling teams to work together more effectively to influence healthcare systems, increase diagnosis, optimise patient pathways, and improve timely access to appropriate medicines. 

 

This will be a pivotal role in redefining the future of our sales team and ensuring AstraZeneca's continued success. You will forge a strong relationship and collaboration with the Global Launch Leads, Global Brand teams and key X-functional teams in MCs ranging from HR, IBEX, FLSMs, SLSMs, Franchise heads and BUDs across geographies in the BBU. In addition, you will work collaboratively with the wider Global Sales and Operational excellence team to achieve ambition 2030. 

 

Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Sales Force Excellence, you will work closely together to realize this ambition. 

 

Expertise Required:   

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business mgt., marketing or Life Sciences 

• Minimum of 8 years in the pharmaceutical industry, global and in market roles 

• Field Leadership and/or field training experience  

• 5+ years expertise applying strategic thought leadership, driving disciplined commercial execution, enterprise thinking, agility and facilitating cultural change in teams 

• Proven experience leading high level strategic business initiatives 

• Experience driving business innovation at scale, including new skills and ways of working 

• Ability to work across geographies and cultures 

• Effectively interact and build strong partnerships with colleagues and senior leaders from different functions 

• Ability to lead the development, design, and delivery of training 

• Project Management skills 

• Budget Management
