Job Summary/Purpose:
The Director is responsible for providing executive leadership and strategic oversight of program operations to ensure high-quality service delivery aligned with the mission of Servicios de La Raza. This role exercises significant independent judgment and discretion in managing staff, implementing programs, evaluating performance, and making operational decisions. The Director oversees program strategy, budgets, compliance, and continuous improvement efforts, while fostering a collaborative, equitable, and mission-driven organizational culture.
This role supports the Re-Entry program committed to breaking the cycle of incarceration in Colorado. The Re-Entry services program supports individuals transitioning from prison back into the community with the resources they need to succeed. Through direct services, advocacy, and personalized support, we help build pathways to employment, housing, and stability—offering real opportunities for a second chance. We believe in redemption, dignity, and the power of support to reduce recidivism and rebuild lives.
Job Duties and Key Responsibilities:
Exercise independent judgment and discretion in planning, directing, and managing all aspects of program operations
Complete program reports, administrative tasks, and other duties as required to meet program needs
Manage, supervise, and evaluate performance of program staff, assigning responsibilities and monitoring outcomes
Analyze the need for and effectiveness of staff trainings, in-service sessions, conferences, and other professional development opportunities
Build and maintain strategic relationships with businesses, service agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders to enhance program outcomes
Lead strategic planning for program implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement based on data analysis
Ensure all program staff are trained, assessing individualized training needs regularly
Monitor and manage departmental budgets, proactively identifying variances and implementing corrective actions
Develop and maintain systems to track performance metrics, financial indicators, data collection, and program outcomes
Assign and delegate tasks and responsibilities to staff, while maintaining accountability for overall program quality
Maintain accurate programmatic records, client records, and outcome documentation
Support the development team in identifying and applying for funding opportunities
Prepare reports for funders, executive leadership, the board of directors, and other stakeholders
Facilitate resolution of staff complaints, including grievances, and address operational challenges
Deliver direct client services on an as-needed basis to support program goals, address high-need cases, or maintain alignment with funder requirements
Foster a positive, mission-driven, equitable, and collaborative team environment
All members of the SDLR workforce are expected to support the agency’s community outreach, civic engagement, and recruitment efforts.
Support the agency’s fundraising objectives, which may include tasks such as active fundraising, grant development, solicitation of donations, agency ambassadorship, and informational outreach, and public speaking
Commitment to and experience with equity, cultural relevance, diversity, social justice, and disparity reduction practices with persons of color, agencies of color, and underserved communities.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, agency partners, and the public
Other duties as assigned
Required Education, experience and Credentialing:
Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, social work, public health, or related field
Two years of supervisory experience managing others
Preferred Education, experience and Credentialing:
At least two years of experience in the non-profit sector

Working Environment and Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate computer, telephone, and a variety of office equipment.
Occasionally may need to reach, stoop or kneel.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 35 pounds as necessary
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
