We are seeking a Director of Engineering who is highly committed to execution and delivering results. This role suits a proactive leader skilled in overseeing engineering teams, promoting on-schedule execution, and guaranteeing the delivery of top-quality software. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with product, design, and business teams to transform business objectives into reliable technological solutions.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engineering Execution & Delivery:
• Take full ownership of engineering projects from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery with exceptional quality.
• Lead agile development methodologies, facilitating effective sprint planning, backlog refinement, and milestone monitoring.
• Enhance release processes, maintain high code standards, and improve system performance while reducing technical debt.
• Identify and resolve blockers for teams by recognizing bottlenecks, managing risks, and driving continuous advancement.
2. Team Leadership & Management:
• Oversee, mentor, and expand high-performing engineering teams.
• Establish clear roles and responsibilities within the team to guarantee successful project execution.
• Offer hands-on technical support when necessary, promoting a culture of excellence and ongoing improvement.
• Work closely with the recruitment team to attract and retain top engineering talent.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Partner effectively with product managers, business stakeholders, and other engineering leaders to align technical efforts with organizational objectives.
• Facilitate smooth coordination among backend, frontend, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Convert business needs into detailed technical roadmaps and actionable execution plans.
4. System Scalability & Stability:
• Maintain the stability, security, and scalability of current systems while supporting the development of new features.
• Improve system performance and reliability in a cost-effective manner.
• Implement robust DevOps and CI/CD practices to ensure seamless and frequent deployments.
Attributes we are looking for:
• 12-17 years of experience in software development and engineering leadership roles.
• Demonstrated ability to drive project execution in fast-paced environments, preferably within fintech or consumer technology sectors.
• Practical expertise with backend technologies (Java) and frontend frameworks (React).
• Proficiency in Agile, Scrum methodologies, and project management tools such as JIRA, Asana, and Trello.
• Strong people management capabilities with a proven record of mentoring and developing engineering teams.
