Director - Direct Tax

Expert knowledge of domestic and international tax of Tax Advisory, Compliances and Litigation. He/she should be strategic advisor to business and tax function, partnering with business on deals across business verticals, transaction advisory on M& A, internal Business re-orgs, high stake contract negotiations across domestic and international taxes (including Transfer Pricing).

Key Responsibilities:
• Partnering with business stakeholders to structure the deals with optimal efficacy.
• Advising on WHT taxes for domestic as well as non resident remittances
• Transfer pricing - Advising on related party transaction, benchmarking study and supporting Compliance team during assessments
• Technical evaluation and drafting memos for senior management
• Assisting in business M&A deals/ e-orgs - Evaluating implications, providing technical inputs and ensuring seemless implementation
• Advising on tax issues arising in foreign jurisdiction including liaising with Tax advisors
• Apprising senior management on recent changes in the law and keep herself/himself updated with recent judicial pronouncements at various courts.
• Developing knowledge bank for the Tax function.
• Providing expert opinion and support to Compliance team on technical issues during tax filings/litigation (for Corporation tax & Transfer Pricing)
• Evaluating inter-company transactions from Transfer pricing perspective, providing benchmarking guidance for TP study/documentation
• Identifying key issues and drafting representation for such issues before CBDT
• Submission of review reports/MIS to parent company
• Compliances and Litigation of group companies based out in India/foreign jurisdictions.

Key Skills:
• Chartered Accountant with 10-12 years of post-qualification experience in Direct Taxes
• Experience in handling Tax advisory, International Taxes, Transfer Pricing, M&A, Transaction advisory and internal reorgs
• Expert knowledge on technical interpretation of tax laws (domestic and international taxes) for India as well for International Tax jurisdictions.
• Experience of Tax compliances and Litigation for India as well as foreign Jurisdiction.
