Qiddiya Investment Company is excited to announce an opening for a Director of Design MEP Fire & Life Safety for the MBS Stadium project. This high-profile role is integral to overseeing fire and life safety systems design, ensuring the highest safety standards while also facilitating the structure's operational versatility.

As the Director, you will lead a dedicated team in developing fire protection plans, life safety strategies, and ensuring compliance with applicable local and international codes. Your leadership will drive innovative approaches to complex design challenges, enhancing the overall safety and functionality of stadium operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the fire and life safety design processes for the MBS Stadium project, ensuring adherence to safety regulations such as NFPA, IBC, and other relevant standards.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and safety professionals to create integrated fire protection systems, collaborating closely with architectural and MEP disciplines.
• Conduct risk assessments to evaluate fire hazards and determine appropriate mitigation strategies throughout the design phase and operational planning.
• Engage in high-level stakeholder consultation, collaborating with project stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and alignment with strategic objectives.
• Ensure the implementation of the Design Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes during the design development phase.
• Monitor project timelines and budgets, delivering the fire and life safety design component on schedule and within budget constraints.
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of fire life safety reports to senior management and regulatory authorities.
• Lead and mentor design teams, promoting a culture of innovation, safety, and continuous improvement in all fire and life safety practices.
• Coordinate with local authorities regarding compliance audits, inspections, and certifications necessary for the project.
• Stay updated on evolving codes, standards, and technologies in fire protection and life safety, ensuring Qiddiya remains at the forefront of industry best practices.

Requirements:
• A Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in fire protection design management, engineering, or related roles, with a focus on large, complex projects such as stadiums or high-profile venues.
• Proven track record of successful project leadership in fire life safety systems design and implementation.
• In-depth knowledge of fire safety codes, regulations, and standards, including NFPA and IBC.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple priorities and direct cross-functional teams effectively.
• Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills, enabling collaborative engagement with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Certifications such as CFPS, CFI, or CSP are highly desirable.
• Innovative thinker and problem solver, capable of aligning technical requirements with business needs.
