We are seeking a Senior Data Analytics leader to head Coupang’s Fraud Detection Systems (FDS), responsible for shaping the long-term fraud prevention strategy across orders, sellers, reviews, and platform integrity. This role will own the charter to safeguard customer trust and platform health by building world-class, ML-driven detection systems, operational frameworks, and cross-org alignment mechanisms.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and develop a high performing Analytics team for Fraud (FDS), covering the analytics function in the broadest sense across product analytics, business intelligence and strategic insights.

• Identify and establish metrics that measure the effectiveness of product selection, including the identification of gaps or other current friction points.

• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including merchandising, tech, and operations teams, to ensure alignment on these metrics and their importance in driving business goals.

• Develop analytic metrics and reporting to show month-to-month trends in selection-related KPIs, helping stakeholders understand levers to drive results.

• Work closely with senior leadership to ensure that data strategies around selection contribute to overall business growth and success.

• Set technical direction and build the function fit for scale, marrying long term strategy with short term business priorities.

• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify pain points and opportunities for system enhancements and collaborate with fellow Coupang tech leaders to make data driven innovation scalable to unlock opportunities for business impact.

• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices in the field.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent quantitative fields.

• 10+ years of analytics experience within a tier-1 technology company of which 5+ years in a leadership / managerial role

• Deep understanding of and experience with analytics, experimentation, metrics definition and strategic insights.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable business recommendations in a clear and concise manner.

• Proven ability to communicate and persuade multiple senior stakeholders and rally multiple teams to reach the same goal.

• Strong critical thinking and attention to detail with an aptitude for solving unstructured problems.

• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop high- performing Analytics team.

• Experience in a fast-growing eCommerce/marketplace environment.

• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, leading the delivery of large-scale services for complex business offerings amidst multiple competing and frequently changing priorities.
