ABOUT THE TEAM
The Yahoo Contributor Network is a comprehensive program to develop independent publishers as well as individual content creators to deliver more robust, high quality content to the Yahoo audience. This team is responsible for developing a robust ecosystem of creators and publishers, supporting partners through strategic opportunities to develop brands and businesses, and creating scalable solutions to grow and deliver quality content and products to the Yahoo community.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Director, Creator Development role will be responsible for identifying, recruiting and onboarding content creators to publish their content on Yahoo; developing incentives and growth strategies to drive creator and audience engagement; and partnering with product and design to build a compelling suite of tools and products that help creators connect with fans.
The ideal candidate will have deep connections and relationships in the creator community - either through managing creators or being a creator themselves - that they will be able to leverage to create a steady pipeline of prospects. They should have experience working with talent, developing compelling content strategies, contributing to useful and differentiated products, and building strong communities and fandoms.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Shape strategy for and guide execution of Yahoo contributors program growth, including most importantly its creator development, product and content strategies
• Identify new creators producing high quality content who would be a strong fit for the Yahoo audience and ecosystem and lead the outreach effort to pitch them the partnership opportunity and successfully onboard them onto the platform
• Develop new models to incentivize creators to produce unique, high quality content for Yahoo, and build communities of fans on the platform
• Work with marketing and communications on strategies to grow creator and fan engagement
• Manage the partnership relationship with creator agencies, developing connections with creator networks, identifying top talent and facilitating partnership arrangements.
• Act as a community facilitator by running creator-focused orientations, gathering creator feedback, and identifying opportunities for collaboration on social media.
• Work cross-functionally to solve legal, policy, business, operational and technical issues as they arise in relation to onboarding or creator engagement
• Domain expert and thought leader in the creator space; knowledgeable in traditional media, social media as well as other digital products, services and emerging technologies including AI, especially as they pertain to content creation and promotion
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• Deep relationships in the creator community, including 6+ years of experience working with creators, particularly in lifestyle and entertainment areas
• Experience building products for creators, including collaborating with product, design, engineering and technology teams to evolve and optimize creator experience
• Partner with product and design teams to shape AI-enabled tools and features that improve creator workflows, content quality, and engagement experiences
• 6+ years of experience in negotiating, structuring and managing partnerships in digital media and/or technology environments, including working with lawyers on contracts and other legal documents
• Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills
• Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple, time sensitive projects
• Domain expertise in the creator space, including content promotion and audience development
• Solid understanding of traditional and new media types, including video, audio, social, mobile and associated business models
• Ability to facilitate group sessions with cross-functional teams, form positive relationships and build consensus

The compensation for this position ranges from $140,890.00 - $306,705.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
