Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary and highly experienced Director, CashIn‑ Engineering Partner to lead the engineering strategy, delivery, and transformation for all cashin/Order to Cash‑ processes across the Group. This role will own the engineering agenda across complex billing, rating, charging, and invoicing platforms—driving the next generation of our billing landscape while ensuring operational excellence today.
The ideal leader will bring deep hands-on technical expertise‑ in Oracle Revenue Management & Billing (ORMB), strong familiarity with SAP SD, and experience across adjacent billing ecosystems. They will spearhead our multi‑year Billing Transformation Programme, building a world‑class engineering capability that delivers scalable architectures, modern engineering practices, and measurable business outcomes.
This is a critical leadership position that partners across Engineering, Finance, Commercial, and Product to elevate the Group’s cashin capability and ensure we remain future‑ fit‑.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
• Define and execute the engineering strategy for all cash-in, billing, rating, and revenue‑ ‑related platforms across the Group.
• Serve as the single engineering owner for ORMB, SAP SD, and associated billing systems.
• Lead the design and implementation of the Group-wide Billing Transformation Programme, modernising legacy platforms into scalable, modular, cloud-ready‑ architectures.
• Establish long-term roadmaps aligned with Finance, Group Commercial, Enterprise Billing, and Engineering strategies.
Engineering Delivery & Oversight
• Lead engineering teams responsible for build, integration, testing, release, and operations of all cash‑in platforms.
• Drive modern engineering practices including CI/CD, DevSecOps, API-driven‑ design, automated testing, platform reliability, and cloud adoption.
• Ensure engineering solutions deliver high performance, reliability, regulatory compliance, and financial accuracy.
• Oversee vendor partners, system integrators, and engineering suppliers, ensuring quality and accountability.
Transformation & Innovation
• Champion simplification and rationalisation of the cash‑in landscape, reducing technical debt and accelerating time‑to‑market.
• Introduce modern billing and charging capabilities including real‑time processing, microservices‑based architectures, and event-driven integrations.
• Drive continuous improvement, performance optimisation, and cost efficiency across platforms.
Stakeholder Partnership
• Act as the strategic engineering partner to Finance, Commercial, and Product teams—aligning platform capabilities with business needs.
• Communicate engineering decisions and architectural direction to senior leaders and executive forums.
• Build trusted relationships with vendors, engineering partners, and Group stakeholders.
People Leadership
• Build, lead, and inspire a high‑performing, diverse engineering organisation.
• Develop talent, upskill teams, and embed a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and innovation.
• Foster a collaborative, open, engineering culture across Group teams and OpCos.
Key Skills & Experience
Technical Expertise
• Mandatory: Hands‑on, deep experience with Oracle Revenue Management & Billing (ORMB) including configuration, integration patterns, data models, and customisation approaches.
• Strong familiarity / conversant with: SAP SD, including convergent charging, convergent invoicing, subscription order management, and integration architecture.
• Experience with billing platforms such as Keylight, Zuora, Amdocs, Netcracker, or similar (advantageous).
• Strong understanding of revenue processes, payment flows, credit management, and financial compliance requirements.
• Experience building cloud-native solutions and transforming monolithic billing systems to modern architectures (e.g., microservices, APIs, event-based billing).
Leadership & Delivery
• Proven ability to lead engineering organisations, multi-vendor teams, and large transformation programs.
• Demonstrated success in driving platform transformation or modernisation in a complex enterprise environment.
• Strong capability to define roadmaps, manage budgets, and influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, especially with Finance and Commercial executives.
Qualifications
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• Advanced certifications in enterprise architecture, cloud, or billing systems beneficial.
• 10+ years in senior engineering leadership roles, ideally in billing, revenue, or finance tech‑ domains.
