Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our organization as Director, Campus Services. Reporting to the Executive Director, Growth Initiatives and CFO, this highly visible role provides senior-level leadership in the planning, development, and management of campus facilities, services, and infrastructure.
The Director, Campus Services is responsible for shaping both short- and long-term strategies that ensure optimal use of space and resources, supporting the College’s evolving academic and operational needs. This role oversees campus planning, construction, sustainability initiatives, ancillary services, and facilities operations ensuring excellence, innovation, and fiscal responsibility across all areas.

What You'll Be Doing:
Vision, Strategy & Leadership: Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive Campus Services strategy that aligns with the College’s broader strategic and academic priorities. Act as a trusted advisor and partner to leadership, balancing diverse stakeholder needs while ensuring operational excellence and financial sustainability. Oversee all major construction and renovation projects from feasibility through completion by establishing clear performance measures to ensure delivery on time and within budget. Foster a safe, compliant, and welcoming campus environment, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks associated with facilities and infrastructure.
Financial Management: Oversee the financial stewardship of Campus Services, including the development and management of annual operating and capital budgets. Monitor financial performance across multiple units and contracts, ensuring strong financial controls are in place and taking corrective action when necessary. Provide ongoing financial insights and reporting to support transparency, informed decision-making, and alignment with institutional goals.
Internal & External Relationships: Build and sustain strong relationships across the College and with external partners to ensure services are responsive and aligned with evolving needs. Collaborate closely with leadership, faculty, staff, and students to enhance service delivery and campus experience. Lead the development and management of strategic partnerships and revenue-generating ancillary services, including negotiating agreements and improving operational and financial performance. Represent the College in partnerships with other post-secondary institutions and external agencies.
Business Operations: Drive the performance of Campus Services operations by ensuring all units meet established goals and service standards. Monitor forecasts, provide regular performance updates, and ensure procurement and contracting activities comply with regulatory requirements. Contribute to financial planning, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and service excellence.
Policy Development & Implementation: Develop and implement College-wide policies, procedures, and guidelines that promote consistency, transparency, and accountability. Ensure policies are applied uniformly across operations and align with regulatory requirements. Support the execution of decisions from the Board of Governors in alignment with institutional priorities.
Facilities & Capital Planning: Direct the strategic planning and execution of campus facilities initiatives, including capital projects, space planning, and long-term infrastructure development. Oversee construction and renovation projects, establish facilities standards, and ensure alignment with user needs and institutional goals. Champion sustainability initiatives such as energy reduction and waste management, embedding them into campus operations. Manage real estate transactions and leases, develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans, and serve as a liaison with municipal partners and external stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Development: Lead and develop a high-performing team by overseeing recruitment, performance management, and professional development. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable work environment that encourages innovation and continuous learning. Support employee relations processes, including collective bargaining, while ensuring compliance with policies and agreements. Create a culture that recognizes achievement, values diversity, and empowers individuals to contribute meaningfully.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience managing complex, multi-functional operations, ideally within a post-secondary or public-sector environment
Demonstrated expertise in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and oversight of large-scale operational and capital expenditures
Strong knowledge of facilities management, construction, safety, and regulatory compliance, including familiarity with Alberta Occupational Health & Safety legislation and Safety Codes
Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives, manage risk, and deliver large-scale projects from planning through execution
Ability to obtain a Police Information Check and travel as required
Experience in facilities management, campus planning, business operations, and ancillary services within a complex organization
Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships
Knowledge of emergency response, safety, and security practices within institutional or campus environments
