Director Applications Engineering

Omni Design is looking for a dynamic leader for the Applications Engineering team - someone with pre-sales and/or post-sales experience supporting customers. The ideal candidate in this role is an engineering leader with experience in mixed-signal design as well as customer engagements preferably in supporting products in the 5G, automotive/ADAS, AI, wireline communications markets.

Job Responsibilities:
• Lead the global Applications Engineering team at Omni Design including hiring, training and managing the team.
• Lead technical pre-sales engagements as as as post-sales customer support.
• Guide the team in managing customer priorities and trade-offs and ensure technical commitments to customers are met on schedule.
• Assist customers in adopting Omni Design IP through training & demos, presentations, solving technical issues and leading technical engagements
• Understanding of customer’s analog and mixed-signal design challenges, especially at advanced process nodes, and guiding them in refining their requirements and successfully integrating Omni Design IP in their products.
• Work with Sales to identify new opportunities, prioritize them and develop winning sales strategies.
• Communicate customer requirements and feedback to marketing and engineering and drive issue resolution.

Qualifications:
• Excellent leadership and organizational abilities
• Good knowledge and experience in semiconductor industry – preferred experience in 5G, automotive, AI market segments
• Excellent cross-functional leadership skills; must be able to listen and partner across organizations.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize between multiple projects
• Must have ability to work independently and productively with high quality output and results in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
• Good understanding of IC design technology and analog design.
• Familiarity with high-speed, high-resolution analog-to-digital (ADC) or digital-to-analog (DAC) data converters and their use in leading edge designs.
• Experience in conducting technical presentations and product demos to customers, including development of collateral.
• Must possess ability to work with teams spread across geographic locations.
• Should be able to seek help proactively as well as share knowledge.

Education/Experience:
• Education Requirements: BS/MS in Electrical Engineering
• Experience Requirements: 15+ years’ experience in semiconductor industry
• Some travel will be required and necessary
