Director, Account Management, Mastercard Direct Services, APAC
Based in Singapore, the role of Director, Account Management, Mastercard Direct Services offers the successful individual the opportunity to join a highly motivated, fast paced Regional team who achieve results through positivity and collaboration. Responsible for growing existing accounts as well as developing new business, the position requires a proactive, commercially pragmatic account director with strong relationship and influencing skills. The ability to operate across multiple accounts and new sales/prospect opportunities whilst acting with a sense of urgency is essential.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum 10+ years experience within the issuing, acquiring and/or payments industry with a blend of Account Management and BD sales experience.
Role
• Develops and grows business with MCDS accounts and prospects delivering against KPIs for growth in GDV, Net Revenue and market share; strategic and operational targets
• Maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Generates and maintains a significant qualified lead and sales pipeline
• Owns the customer’s P&L including budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
• Executes strategic account commercial deals and strategic partnership agreements
• Maintains detailed account plans and conducts regular reviews of the overall customer performance, managing the relationship and profitability as per the commercial deal
• Develops & sells new opportunities with the Strategic Partners with the view of accelerating business growth, increasing Mastercard share and volume, identifying new revenue streams
• Owns the co-creation and development of new business models, value propositions and /or innovative ecosystems in collaboration with customers, internal stakeholders and /or external third party providers as required
• Develops new business opportunities/sales pipeline leveraging full suite of MasterCard products and solutions, including co-brands, prepaid and commercial products, Advisors services and other MasterCard products service innovations or enhancements
• Develops views on competition positioning in partners’ portfolios for Mastercard
• Performs market research and opportunity assessments on new concepts and ideas - assessing viability of new products in support of market strategy
• Manages day-to-day work & establishes effective communication and relationship with senior decision makers within client management
• Works highly effectively across functions to leverage the power of Mastercard (ie other sales teams, product and business development, marketing, operations, Services and Delivery) to identify opportunities, design and execute targeted customer-focused proposals
• Shares knowledge and participates in people development of MCDS sales managers
Skills Required
• A degree in business management or relevant field
• Solid experience in business development and consultative sales roles
• Strong team player and collaborator, comfortable with fast and fluid environments, good team player
• Ability to interact at all levels with clients to develop and articulate the strategic direction of the business to stakeholders
• Proficient with numbers, commercial models, metrics to prepare presentations, proposals, plans, contact reports
• Proficient communicating and working with senior client decision makers
• Prior experience working with B2B financial and technology sector clients
• Powerful presenter and communicator/strong written and verbal communication skills
• Highly motivated self-starter
• Results oriented, with a strong sense of urgency
• Consultative selling style and ability to sell on value versus price
• Learning agility and ability to quickly establish credibility in a new subject matter or vertical
• Analytical mindset with strong execution discipline
• Fluency in Mandarin is required to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
