About the client: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a vibrant 10-year-old girl with complex medical and behavioral needs. She enjoys engaging in activities based on the weather, spending time outdoors, and connecting with others in safe, meaningful ways. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, flexible, and experienced in providing trauma-informed care to children with high support needs. The client is currently experiencing health challenges, including teething, which contribute to increased sensitivity, clinginess, and oral sensory behaviors such as biting and chewing on blankets or towels. Responsibilities:
Assist with daily routines including:
G-tube feeding and medication administration
Brushing teeth and hygiene support
Bedtime routines
Support with transitions, transferring, and positioning
Provide behavior support and coping strategies for biting/scratching/pinching/throwing things
Assist with mobility challenges
Preferred Qualifications:
Training in behavior management or trauma-informed care
Experience with g-tube feeding and medication administration
Familiarity with supporting families where a parent may have ADHD or Autism
Direct Support Professional (DSP) / In Home Care Giver Responsibilities and Duties:

This role varies depending on the client but can involve teaching skills of independent living such as self-care, behavior management, budgeting, cooking, shopping and cleaning. Documenting
- Must create and enter specific progress notes after each shift. Also, a progress report is due once per quarter.

Patient, Kind, and Positive
- Helping those with disabilities requires a person who can be patient in all situations, show kindness, and have a positive attitude toward the client and other members of the client’s family even in challenging situations.
