About the Role
We are seeking compassionate and experienced Direct Support Professionals to work with individuals experiencing intellectual disabilities. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while fostering independence and life skills in clients.
Key Responsibilities
Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including grooming, dressing appropriately for the weather, and preparing meals of their choice.
Support clients in developing personal hygiene skills.
Engage in recreational and sporting activities.
Coordinate transportation for appointments and community outings.
Support clients in developing vocational skills and preparing for potential employment.
Assist with personal care tasks, including bathing and dressing.
Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as vacuuming, washing dishes, and tidying living spaces.
Help plan client appointments and organize schedules.
Encourage engagement in social networks and community activities.
Requirements
CPR/First Aid certification
Authorization to work in the U.S.
Clearance of background check
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1 year of healthcare experience
Qualifications & Skills
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends
