Job Summary

Grace Reliant is seeking compassionate, dependable Direct Support Professionals to support adults with intellectual/ developmental  disabilities in their own homes. In this full-time role, you will help individuals build independence, assist with daily living tasks and personal care, provide transportation, monitor safety overnight, and offer meaningful companionship. Ideal candidates are patient, reliable, and motivated by work that makes a direct impact. Multiple shifts are available in the Cape Girardeau/Jackson, MO area, with competitive pay, development incentives, and optional full benefits.

Pay

$18.00/hour – Per diem (no benefits)

$17.00/hour – Full benefits package

Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Overnight shifts; every other weekend required

Position Summary

Overnight DSPs support individuals in their homes by promoting independence, assisting with personal and daily living skills, ensuring safety overnight, and providing companionship and encouragement. This role includes both routine and medically related personal care.

Responsibilities

Provide supportive, person-centered care in client homes

Follow the client’s Individualized Service Plan (ISP)

Assist with daily living needs: cooking, cleaning, shopping, hygiene, dressing, bathing

Perform personal and medical-related care, including:

Catheters

Transfers

Hoyer lift

Bowel routines

Enemas

Showering

Brief changes

Transport clients to appointments and community activities

Offer positive interaction, encouragement, and companionship

Use de-escalation and behavior management strategies during psychiatric crises

Document care and communication accurately

Qualifications

18 years of age or older

High School Diploma or GED

Valid driver’s license

Reliable personal vehicle with active insurance

Ability to pass a background check

Basic computer skills

Ability to lift/move 30–50 lbs

Flexibility to work overnight shifts and every other weekend
