Direct Care Staff (Part Time) - Group Home

Smoky Mountain Children's Home, a faith-based non-profit organization, is seeking part-time Direct Care Staff for the Sevierville, TN campus. In this role you would be in a position to make a positive difference in the lives of at-risk youth. You will join a team of dedicated individuals who oversee the welfare of an assigned group of at-risk youth.

Responsibilities:

Provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support to adolescent youth

Model and encourage positive attitudes and behaviors

Help teach social and independent living life skills, including coping mechanisms

Ensure the safety of every youth

Prepare healthy meals daily

Provide daily routines and structure in a home environment

Help youth develop healthy relationships with family and friends

Perform and supervise household chores

Supervise and assist with homework and school activities

Assist youth in achieving their program plan and permanency goals

Plan and supervise social events and activities

Shop for and organize the supplies needed to manage a household of 8 youth and their caregivers

Encourage the spiritual growth of each resident

Provide oversight of the cottage, grounds, and equipment

Provide transportation for youth when needed (via company vehicles)

Oversee and manage the overall operations of your assigned cottage

Position Requirements:

Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license.

Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Must be able to work as a team member and accept supervision.

Must be able to pass a drug test and extensive background checks.

Must be physically capable of performing all job duties. 

Must be able to perform basic housekeeping duties and prepare meals.

Must have excellent interpersonal skills with a caring approach.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. 

Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred.

Work Schedule:

You will be called in as-needed, with the potential for working up to 27 hours/week.

Salary Information:

$14.50/hour with a .50/hour pay increase after 90-day probationary period (with a favorable performance evaluation).
