USAC is a nonprofit, university-affiliated study abroad organization headquartered on the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) campus. Since 1982, USAC has provided students with opportunities to gain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to succeed in a global society. USAC currently operates 50+ programs in 25+ countries.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Digital Marketing Specialist drives USAC’s online presence by creating high-performing campaigns across email, microsites, landing pages, and the website. This role combines creative content development with data-driven strategy—writing and editing audience content, analyzing engagement, segmenting audiences, and building automated flows for the student journey. Working closely with advising, enrollment, institutional relations, IT, and marketing teams, the Digital Marketing Specialist creates seamless digital engagement experiences.
POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time, exempt position and will be paid on a salary basis. Hybrid and remote options are available. Qualified U.S. applicants are encouraged to apply.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Digital Marketing Specialist, you will:
Create, design and launch personalized digital campaigns across multiple digital channels — email, landing pages, microsite, SMS, chat, social — in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Advanced) that engage, nurture, recruit, and convert student audiences.
Track, measure, and analyze campaign performance metrics, customer behavior, and other key data points using tools like Analytics Builders to ensure campaigns are optimized for better engagement and ROI.
Develop and execute a digital marketing roadmap that aligns with organizational and department goals, including opportunities for automation and new initiatives.
Collaborate with internal teams to shape student recruitment, awareness, nurture, and conversion strategies.
Conduct market research and utilize team members' knowledge to better understand target audiences, identify growth opportunities, and adjust campaigns based on performance.
Report results and insights to stakeholders, highlighting key performance metrics, engagement trends, and areas for growth.
Stay current on industry trends and recommend innovative ways to keep USAC’s digital presence competitive.
REQUIREMENTS
2-4 years’ experience creating journeys, cross-channel campaigns, automations, dynamic content, within Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Pardot/Account Engagement experience a nice to have).
2-4 years’ experience managing and segmenting data lists, data-modeling, and understanding of Salesforce Data Cloud (SSJS nice to have).
2-4 years’ HTML/CSS, SQL, AMPScript experience
CRM knowledge and experience
Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Email Specialist achievement, Trailblazer and Trailhead community collaborator, and hands-on experience with Email Studio, Journey Builder, Mobile Studio, and Advertising Studio.
Experience managing multiple concurrent digital campaigns in higher education, nonprofits, or business settings, with knowledge of current digital and email marketing trends.
Portfolio or 2–3 summaries highlighting digital and email campaign audiences, data segmentation, engagement metrics, design, content, strategy, and flow/journeys.
2–3 writing samples from digital or email marketing projects.
Knowledge of AP style; proofreading and editing skills preferred.
Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and quality assurance.
Knowledge of anti-spam laws, including CAN-SPAM and GDPR.
Thrives in a deadline-driven, detail-oriented, fast-paced environment alongside highly collaborative, motivated, innovative, and energized Marketing Communications professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2-5 years of experience in digital marketing, email marketing, or related roles.
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and adjust strategies.
Creative, innovative, and able to spot trends and opportunities.
Excellent and timely communication skills — both written and verbal — and a collaborative mindset.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bonus skills that will make you stand out:
Ability to explain technical processes to non-technical stakeholders
Familiarity with analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, Monsido).
Knowledge of SEO, Google AI, and answer/search strategies.
Experience with content planning, strategy, and creating digital roadmaps.
Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or international education settings.
