Digital Marketing Implementation Specialist

Overview

The Digital Marketing Implementation Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the successful and consistent setup of marketing tools, tracking systems, and analytics configurations across client accounts. This position supports multiple departments by executing structured, process-driven implementation tasks that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in digital campaign delivery.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys following detailed instructions, maintaining precision in repetitive workflows, and contributing to team success through consistent execution of standardized processes.

Key Responsibilities

Account Management Support

• Execute the implementation components of new account setup processes.

• Configure dashboards within Agency Analytics and related reporting tools.

• Set up and connect Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager (GTM), and Google My Business (GMB).

• Establish and verify Search Console integrations and basic website metadata configurations.

• Collaborate with account managers to ensure setup completion and quality standards.

• Perform any other related implementation or setup tasks as required to support the evolution of the DMS team.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Support

• Perform content and metadata setups for new and existing client accounts.

• Complete local and niche citation submissions and verifications.

• Assist with standardized, non-SEO-specific setup tasks as assigned.

• Support any additional SEO-related activities or initiatives as needed to meet evolving team objectives.

Paid Advertising Support

• Set up and link Google Analytics and Google Ads accounts.

• Configure GTM containers for both Google and Meta tracking.

• Create and maintain dashboards in Agency Analytics for paid media reporting.

• Link Google My Business profiles to Ads campaigns where applicable.

• Manage key event tracking, including creating and importing conversion actions, categorizing event types, and ensuring proper setup in both Google Ads and Meta Ads Manager.

• Configure Meta Pixel, verify custom events, and create custom conversions in Meta Events Manager.

• Perform any other paid advertising setup or maintenance tasks as required to support ongoing campaign implementation and optimization.

Analytics Support

• Set up and configure GA4 properties and GTM containers for multiple domains.

• Ensure all data streams, event tracking, and measurement settings align with standard operating procedures.

• Validate tracking accuracy and debug event issues using appropriate tools.

• Maintain and update dashboards in Agency Analytics or similar platforms.

• Document implementation steps, tagging updates, and configuration changes for internal tracking and transparency.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (SEO, Paid Advertising, Web Development) to ensure accurate tracking and analytics implementation across all websites.

• Support any other analytics-related projects or process improvements as the DMS team’s needs expand.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow defined processes with consistency.

• Comfortable performing repetitive, task-oriented work in a fast-paced environment.

• Basic familiarity with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and digital advertising platforms preferred.

• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

• Comfortable and confident working with website Content Management Systems (WordPress and similar CMSs).

• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new tools, processes, and technologies.

Goal:

Putting together a list of repetitive,“non-glamorous”, process heavy tasks that DMS departments can off-load to a dedicated team member for efficiency purposes. After a solid list has been created, I will create a job description of the listed duties and responsibilities.

Off-loaded duties:

Account Managers: (Average of 67 Setups / Month) (Saves each AM 2hrs per day on average)

• Implementation part of the Setup Process.

○ Dashboard Setup AA/BL

○ Google Analytics

○ GTM/Container Setup

○ GMB Setup / Leave notes if done already (note: Procurement/Comms still handled by AM team. Setup and/or creation after the fact will go to JR SEO) ○ Search Console

○ Easy Website Meta Data

SEO/JR SEO:

• Easy Content (Previously Phase 2) setups and/or other non-seo specific ESS setup tasks

• Local/Niche citations

PPC:

• Google Analytics Setup & Link to Google Ads

• GTM Container Setup (Google and Meta)

• Dashboard setup in AA

• Linking GMBs to Google Ads campaigns

• Key Events - Google

○ Marking events as Key Events in GA4

○ Importing events as conversion actions into Google Ads

○ Categorizing conversion actions accordingly (phone call lead, purchase, begin checkout, etc)

○ Ensure conversion actions are marked as Primary in Google Ads

• Conversion tracking - Meta

○ Creating Meta Pixel & installing in GTM

○ Confirm custom events in Meta Events Manager

○ Create custom conversions in Meta Events Manager

Analytics:

• Set up and configure GA4 properties and GTM for multiple domains and ensure proper data streams and measurement settings.

• Configure and update key events in GA4, adjust reporting and related settings to align with standard operating procedures.

• Upload, configure, and verify GTM containers, validate event tracking accuracy using debug tools.

• Support dashboard setup and maintenance using Agency analytics or similar platforms.

• Identify and report the issues in GTM, GA4 and Agency dashboards and timely resolve the issues to get the process forward.

• Collaborate with SEO, PPC, and web development team to implement and audit tracking changes across websites.

• Document analytics implementation, tagging updates, and change logs for internal tracking and client transparency.
