**Position Overview:**
The Diesel Shop Manager will play a critical role in leading our team of diesel mechanics in our Watford City, ND location to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of our fleet of vehicles and equipment. This position requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.
**Location:** Watford City, ND
**Schedule: ** Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm
**Salary: ** $100,000-$120,000 Depending on Experience
**Responsibilities: **
Supervise and coordinate the activities of diesel mechanics to ensure timely and effective maintenance and repair of diesel engines, vehicles, and equipment.
Provide technical guidance and support to mechanics, troubleshooting complex issues and ensuring repairs are completed correctly and efficiently.
Schedule and prioritize work orders, assigning tasks to mechanics based on skill level and workload.
Conduct regular inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Oversee inventory management of parts and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and efficient use of resources.
Train and mentor mechanics, providing ongoing development and support to enhance skills and knowledge.
Monitor and evaluate employee performance, providing feedback and addressing any performance issues in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs, including work orders, inspections, and inventory.
Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules and support operational needs.
Promote a culture of safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.
**Qualifications: **
Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in diesel engine maintenance and repair.
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a diesel mechanic or related field.
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of diesel engine systems and components.
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engine issues, including electrical and hydraulic systems.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to diesel engine maintenance and repair.
Experience with inventory management systems and procedures.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
