South Main Trucking Co. currently has an opening at our Greensburg branch for a Mechanic. Daylight M-F 8:00 am-4:30 pm and Afternoon M-F 12:00 pm-8:00 pm.
Responsibilities:
Servicing and repairing vehicles
Troubleshooting potential mechanical issues
Perform preventative maintenance
Perform repair and replacement work, including but not limited to oil, tires, brakes, lamps, and various other parts
Travel to other branches to make repairs
Requirements:
Have own tools
At least 21 years old (insurance purposes)
Pass the DOT Physical
Clean driving record
Diesel experience
Regularly lift up to 50 lbs
Mechanical troubleshooting skills
Motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team
Willing to learn and expand skill set
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Work overtime as required
Meet DOT regulatory requirements for operating company or related vehicles
Familiar with all DOT regulations and truck operations
Sign all documentation to meet DOT regulations and company requirements
Preferred:
Class 7 Inspection License
Class B Driver’s License
Forklift mechanical knowledge
Electrical knowledge
Basic computer skills
Must submit a background check and drug testing.
Graduate of a technical school, military school, or relevant working experience acceptable to the company.
