We are looking for a hands-on Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of trucks, trailers, and construction equipment in a fast-paced field environment. This role is ideal for someone who can work independently, troubleshoot issues in real time, and take ownership of fleet reliability. The position supports an industrial and commercial services company with ongoing field operations and critical equipment needs. This is a high-impact role where uptime, safety, and consistency are essential to daily operations.
Responsibilities
• Diagnose and repair trucks, trailers, and construction equipment including generators, compressors, and forklifts
• Perform routine maintenance and preventative service to ensure fleet uptime and reliability
• Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with DOT and applicable regulatory standards
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection logs, and maintenance documentation
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform repairs with minimal supervision
• Coordinate with operations teams to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards and company policies
Requirements:
• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a mechanic in fleet, construction, or heavy equipment environments
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Experience working on diesel trucks and construction equipment (e.g., generators, compressors)
• Ability to work independently without reliance on a shop environment
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
• Experience with DOT inspections and compliance standards preferred
• Stable work history with minimal job hopping
• No formal degree required; certifications are a plus
