About the Role

Shapes is at a major inflection point: our product is scaling rapidly, customers are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, and we’re re-architecting our platform to meet the next stage of growth.

As our first Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll design, build, and scale the infrastructure that powers all of Shapes. You’ll lead high-impact architectural decisions, solve complex distributed-systems challenges, and ensure our cloud platform is secure, reliable, and built for scale.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure cloud infrastructure to support rapid product growth

• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable, high quality repeatable releases

• Automate operations, monitoring, and incident response to ensure high availability, and fast recovery with continuous learning and improvement mindset

• Own system reliability, observability, and performance—proactively identify risks and resolve issues before they affect customers. At least 99.9% availability is expected.

• Partner closely with engineering and product teams to architect resilient solutions and drive a culture of excellence, ownership and transparency

• Lead, mentor, and elevate other engineers by sharing best practices and operational excellence

What You’ll Bring

• 4+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or related engineering roles at fast-paced SaaS/B2B startups

• Deep expertise with modern cloud environments (AWS preferred; GCP/Azure also valuable)

• Proven experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)

• Strong proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)

• Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Exceptional problem-solving skills—you can diagnose, root-cause, and resolve complex distributed-systems issues

• A high sense of ownership and urgency; you anticipate problems and take action without waiting

• Passion to profession, clear, proactive communication and a strong collaborative mindset
