DevOps AWS GitLab - Tieto Tech Consulting (m/f/d)

About the Role

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to design, maintain, and optimize our GitLab environment, which serves as a central SCM platform for thousands of active users. This role combines research, development, integration, and operational responsibilities to ensure a secure, scalable, and high-performing solution.

Our globally distributed team spans three major time zones, requiring strong collaboration and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-study and analysis of technical requirements and evaluate third-party solutions for compatibility and performance.
• Manage and optimize GitLab infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define technical specifications.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and ensure compliance with security standards.
• Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance workflows using modern DevOps tools.
• On-call support in the service (weekly, once per 5 weeks)

 

Technical Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in DevOps Engineer role or similar positions
• AWS (must-have), experience with other public cloud providers
• Strong experience with Linux and networking fundamentals
• Proficiency in Kubernetes (K8s) and Docker
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python)
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
• Experience with on-premises installations (will be an advantage)
• Familiarity with GitLab administration and integrations (will be an advantage)

• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards
