As a member of our clinical team, you will become an integral part of each of your patient's services team. Being a part of our clinical team, you will have the opportunity to closely interact with other clinicians of our lively team, learn how to become a remarkable therapist and master your job responsibilities, which include:
A Developmental Therapist (DT) works with infants and toddlers (birth to age 3) and their families to support growth in cognitive, communication, motor, social-emotional, and self-help skills, often through early intervention programs. Key duties include assessing developmental needs, creating Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), modeling developmental activities with children, educating parents, and collaborating with other professionals (like OTs, SLPs) to help children reach milestones and navigate challenges in natural settings like homes or daycare.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Planning: Evaluate developmental progress, identify delays, and help develop IFSPs with the family.
Family Support & Education: Empower parents with strategies, understanding, and resources to foster their child's development.
Intervention: Provide direct services and model play-based interactions to promote skills in cognitive, communication, physical, social-emotional, and adaptive areas.
Collaboration: Work as part of an early intervention team, coordinating with service coordinators and other therapists.
Advocacy: Help families understand their rights and navigate transitions, such as moving out of early intervention services.
