Developmental Therapists work with children from birth through the age of three and their families to meet developmental goals. Services are provided in the families’ homes in Coles, Cumberland, Shelby, Douglas, Edgar, and Clark Counties. Agency-owned vehicles are provided for work-related travel in addition to a laptop and cell phone for work-related uses. This is a full-time, permanent position.

REQUIREMENTS
Possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to drive in the daytime or at night
Provide proof of the required degree via transcripts from an accredited school
Must pass a criminal background check, as required by the Healthcare Worker Background Check Act (225 ILCS 46), and a DCFS Child Abuse and Neglect background check
Successfully complete and maintain American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/First Aid certification
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Special Education, Child Development/Family Studies, Early Intervention, Developmental Psychology, or Social Work
240 hours of direct service to children from birth to three years old under the supervision of an Illinois credentialed Developmental Therapist (the agency will work with the right applicant to obtain this)
Completion of the Illinois Early Intervention Systems Training
Two semester hours or 30 clock hours/CEU credit hours in each of the five core areas:
Typical Development of Young Children
Atypical Development of Young Children
Working with Families of Young Children with Disabilities
Assessment of Children with Special Needs
Intervention Strategies for Young Children with Special Needs
Training on the use of a global evaluation/assessment tool used with children under the age of three
SCHEDULE
Daytime on Monday through Friday with major holidays and weekends off
WAGES
$49,000/ year
PAY SCHEDULE
Every two weeks with direct deposit available upon request
