YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The What: As a Manufacturing Engineer at Blackwave, you’ll operate right where innovation meets production. You’ll develop and industrialize manufacturing processes that make our lightweight, high-performance composite components truly flight-ready. From prototype to series production, you help our technology take off.
The Why: At Blackwave, we are developing the next generation of COPVs for aerospace applications. Our mission: To end COPV failure in spaceflight. The benchmark for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Develop and build the future: Work on the development and production of our advanced composite products — from prototype to full-scale manufacturing.
• Engineer for lightness: Design components and production processes with a focus on lightweight solutions for aerospace applications.
• Shape innovation: Be part of a fast, iterative development cycle and contribute your own ideas, concepts, and creativity to every stage of the process.
• Scale and industrialize: Take ownership of scaling up and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency and reliability in serial production.
• Be the go-to expert: Support the team as a key contact for process and material topics of components, winding, fixtures, and molding tools.
Important Note: This role is focused on Manufacturing Engineering and the industrialization of our COPVs. We are not currently hiring for Software Development positions.
YOUR PROFILE:
• Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field.
• Initial professional experience in manufacturing processes especially winding or lightweight construction with experience with composite materials.
• Strong team player mindset, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and departments.
• Excellent hands-on skills and a practical, solution-oriented approach to technical challenges.
• Creative, curious, and passionate about pushing the boundaries of lightweight engineering.
• Excellent English language skills (at least C1), German skills appreciated
