Our Space Systems business designs and builds our extensive line of satellites, payloads, and their components, including spacecraft that have been selected to support NASA missions to the Moon and Mars and components used on the James Webb Space Telescope.

As a Development Engineer I, you’ll contribute to the development and upkeep of spacecraft propulsion systems, working hands-on with cutting-edge hardware alongside a talented team of engineers and technicians. You’ll take ownership of components or systems throughout their lifecycle, from concept to integration and beyond. Success in this role requires a strong technical foundation, problem-solving skills, and a passion for tackling tough engineering challenges.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Design, build, and test propulsion systems and components for space vehicles.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including GNC, Manufacturing, Flight Software, and Analysis.

• Develop and refine tools to improve efficiency and eliminate over-conservatism.

• Plan and execute tests, analyze data, and correlate results to ensure high-quality, flight-ready products.

• Provide technical documentation and support for manufacturing, testing, and operations.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Essential Skills:

• Strong ownership mindset, curiosity, and eagerness to learn.

• Excellent grasp of mechanical engineering fundamentals.

• Hands-on experience building or testing mechanical or electromechanical systems.

• Proven ability to deliver successful engineering projects from concept to operation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 1+ years of industry experience.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with rocket engines, fluid components, or spacecraft propulsion systems.

• Skills in test planning, CAD design, systems engineering, thermofluid analysis, or structural analysis.
