ROLE DESCRIPTION

Role Summary

The Data Migration Developer will be responsible for planning, developing, and executing data migration activities from legacy systems to new target platforms. The role ensures data accuracy, completeness, and integrity throughout the migration lifecycle within a regulated enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop data migration scripts, programs, and workflows

• Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from legacy systems to target platforms

• Perform data profiling, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation

• Collaborate with business users and data owners to understand data definitions and rules

• Identify data quality issues and propose remediation solutions

• Support migration testing cycles (dry runs, UAT, production migration)

• Document migration logic, mappings, and reconciliation reports

• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and audit requirements

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in data migration and ETL development in financial service/banking industry

• Excellent SQL skills and experience handling large datasets

• Experience with relational databases and/or data warehouses

• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (Python, Java, etc.)

• Understanding of data validation, reconciliation, and audit controls

• Experience working with legacy systems and complex data models

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud data platforms or modern data lakes

• Financial services or insurance data migration experience

• Familiarity with data governance and regulatory compliance principles
