At WM New Zealand, we are the largest composter, the largest waste-to-energy provider and have the largest commercial electric fleet in New Zealand, all powered by electricity from waste. As a team, we are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to redirect, neutralise and use waste.
About the role
This critical role sits at the heart of the operations in our Auckland Commercial Collections team based in East Tamaki. 
The key responsibilities include:
• Provide excellent customer service through responding to service-related enquiries to meet contractual service timeline
• Monitoring route collection efficiencies, coordinating daily activities, responding to sudden reactive changes, and communicating with customers regarding any operational delays
• Manage despatch performance through Salesforce SLAs and dashboard reporting
• Oversee accurate system data entry and month-end financial confirmations
• Lead, train, and performance-manage despatchers, including PEPs and regular one-on-ones
• Maintain compliance with privacy, Fair Trading Act, and Commerce Commission requirements
• Liaise with internal teams to ensure a coordinated, customer-focused approach
• Manage website updates for public holidays and service interruptions
• Supervision of the despatch coordinators 
About you
To be successful in this role, you'll have: 
• Proven experience working in a fast-paced operational environment
• Prior despatch experience is an advantage
• Proactive, positive attitude with the ability to quickly build strong working relationships across a large, diverse team
• Flexible, highly organised, and detail-focused
• Strong time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Experience using frontline operating systems is essential
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams
• Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
