Position: Design Lead

The Digital Product Design Team Lead is a key member of a global pharma User Experience Consulting Team. This role provides hands-on design leadership and people management across a wide range of digital experiences for both employees and consumers. The Team Lead partners closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and cross-functional collaborators to rapidly understand problems and deliver high-quality, impactful design solutions that balance user needs, business goals, and enterprise design standards.

This role blends strong visual and experience design expertise with coaching, mentorship, and delivery leadership in a fast-paced, on-demand consulting model.

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand needs, define problem statements, and scope appropriate UX and UI design support.

• Lead, manage, and inspire a team of designers to deliver high-quality digital solutions that unify form and function.

• Provide mentorship, guidance, and constructive feedback to support the professional growth and performance of team members.

• Ensure design solutions align with Lilly brand standards, accessibility requirements, and enterprise experience guidelines.

• Balance creativity and innovation with consistency, helping teams understand when and how to push boundaries responsibly.

• Stay current on UX, UI, and product design trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously evolve the design practice.

• Demonstrate executive accountability, initiative, and flexibility while prioritizing workloads and resources to meet delivery timelines.

• Communicate design rationale clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Design, Digital Design, Interaction Design, Visual Communication Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.

EXPERIENCE

• 8+ years of experience in UX or product design, including leadership or team management experience

• Proven experience designing for digital, screen-based experiences

• Experience working cross-functionally with product, technology, and business partners

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• English – excellent verbal and written communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS

• Exceptional portfolio demonstrating strong visual, interaction, and experience design across multiple projects and platforms

• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills

• High level of intellectual curiosity and passion for innovation

• Ability to simplify complex ideas for diverse audiences
