Job Description
DC is seeking an organized, proactive Design Build Project Manager to oversee multiple projects through all phases of the design-build process. This role is responsible for coordinating clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure drawings, schedules, and deliverables stay aligned from project kickoff through final delivery and continued build support. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and problem-solver who can manage multiple priorities while keeping projects on track, anticipating risks, and driving solutions that support quality outcomes and client satisfaction.
This is an onsite role based out of our HQ in Damascus, Oregon, and requires consistent in-office presence (with potential for a limited hybrid schedule over time).
Important Note: This is not an onsite home-building Project Manager role. Our project lifecycle typically runs from design through fabrication and shipping of a complete material package, followed by remote contractor build support through project completion.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Manage the full lifecycle of multiple projects simultaneously, from initial kickoff through final delivery and continued build support
Lead the coordination of drawings, schedules, and deliverables between internal teams, contractors, and clients
Proactively manage schedules to ensure projects meet or exceed milestone deadlines
Anticipate potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies before they impact schedules or budgets
Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional, solutions-focused communication
Deliver clear, concise project updates to leadership, stakeholders, and clients
Facilitate change order discussions and resolve cost variances with a balanced, professional approach
Represent the DC brand with professionalism in appearance, communication, and conduct
Lead and host builder hand-off meetings and ongoing builder check-ins for assigned projects
Address project challenges and support inquiries with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
Act as a cross-functional liaison, motivating and holding internal teams and external partners accountable to project goals
Champion DC’s commitment to quality and continuous improvement by applying LEAN principles to project workflows, coordination, and problem-solving
Leverage project management tools, 3D modeling software, and reporting applications to streamline workflows and maintain transparency
Track and manage outstanding information required by operations to keep fabrication and project execution moving forward
Attend required meetings, including Shipping & Fabrication meetings and builder check-ins, to provide project updates
Actively participate in team meetings and team-building activities
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
Detail-oriented, solutions-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Familiarity with construction documentation, scheduling, and design-build processes
Experience with the residential construction lifecycle (framing, build sequencing, contractor coordination, etc.); timber frame experience is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Confidence leading meetings, resolving conflicts, and negotiating solutions
Comfortable managing emotionally charged interactions and de-escalating situations to reach productive resolution
Proficiency with project management software
Experience with 3D modeling or BIM software preferred
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
3+ years of project management experience, preferably in a design-build or custom construction environment
Experience working directly with clients and coordinating across multiple stakeholders
CADwork or 3D BIM software experience strongly preferred
