Depot Operations Lead
Reports to: Senior Regional Operations Manager
Location: Canterbury
Role Type: Full-time, Monday - Friday (9am-5pm)
About the role
We’re looking for a hands-on Depot Operations Lead to run day-to-day depot operations and lead a high-performing workshop team. You’ll be responsible for fleet readiness, staff performance, safety, and operational standards — making sure the depot runs efficiently and supports excellent service delivery in the field.
Working closely with senior operations and on-street teams, you’ll also play a key role in process improvement, performance reporting, and maintaining a strong working relationship with the client.
What you’ll be doing
Lead and manage depot and workshop teams, including mechanics and support staff
Ensure high productivity, quality repairs, and fleet readiness
Manage rotas, stock, tools, and depot assets
Own health & safety compliance, toolbox talks, and safety checks
Track performance KPIs and drive continuous improvement
Support client reporting and contribute to monthly performance reviews
Recruit, onboard, train, and develop team members
Act as the escalation point for depot-based issues

Proven leadership experience in a workshop or depot environment
Strong organisational and planning skills
Confident communicator and decision-maker
Practical mechanical or asset management knowledge
A safety-first mindset and commitment to quality
