About the role
Join POS360 as a dynamic Deployment Field Technician, where you'll play a pivotal role in deploying cutting-edge point-of-sale (POS) and IT solutions. Your mission will be to expertly install, configure, and maintain our proprietary POS systems at diverse customer sites. This role demands a blend of technical acumen and stellar customer service skills. You'll address complex technical challenges, ensure seamless network integration, and provide hands-on customer education. Be ready to engage in varied projects, sometimes requiring non-standard working hours or travel, as you contribute to our commitment to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain POS systems and related hardware at client locations.
Perform system upgrades and enhancements for optimized functionality.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
Conduct network installations, including configuration of routers, switches, and ensuring robust security measures.
Educate customers on system features and functionalities, enhancing their user experience.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Development, Logistics) to streamline deployment processes and enhance customer satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies during installations.
Configure, program, and test credit-card terminals, registers, printers, and scanners prior to deployment.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to verify optimal hardware and network configuration.
Conduct comprehensive QA checks on M1-R systems and peripherals.
Identify and tag Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required, along with either one year of field experience or 2 (two) years of in-house IT support experience.
Proven experience in IT support, networking, or a related field.
Strong understanding of Windows 10/11, computer systems, software, and POS technologies.
Proficient in the use of various hand tools for installation and repair.
Exceptional customer service skills with experience in client-facing roles.
Eagerness to master new technologies and become a POS360 product expert.
Valid driver's license with a clean record.
Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, and to travel overnight as needed.
Physical ability to manage equipment, including lifting up to 35lbs solo and 75lbs with assistance.
Good manual dexterity and ability to work in various physical positions.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) are a plus.
