Job Description

We’re looking for a seasoned Power BI Expert to lead end‑to‑end delivery of enterprise BI solutions spanning Power BI Administration, advanced data modeling, pixel‑perfect reporting with Power BI Report Builder (Paginated Reports), and best‑practice use of external tools. You’ll own our Power BI environment’s reliability and governance while partnering with data engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to ship performant dashboards, robust datasets, and scheduled paginated reports aligned to our governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Reporting & Delivery: Build high‑quality reports in Power BI Desktop and pixel‑perfect artifacts in Power BI Report Builder (Paginated Reports)—including email scheduling needs and MHTML delivery constraints.
• Data Modeling & Performance: Design star schemas, define fact/dimension granularity, relationship cardinality, calculation groups, and DAX patterns; apply composite models, DirectQuery vs Import trade‑offs, Incremental Refresh, and Query Folding.
• Platform Administration & Reliability: Administer tenants, capacities, workspaces, gateways, service principals/service accounts, and deployment pipelines; monitor performance and autoscale/resize capacities as needed.
• Governance & Security: Implement and audit Row-Level Security (RLS) and object‑level security aligned to our RBAC model and data security matrix; collaborate with business data owners to enforce policies and DLP guidance.
• Collaboration & Enablement: Partner with Data Engineering to ensure robust pipelines, gateway setups, and source connectivity; triage incidents and publish RCA; coach analysts/developers on best practices.

Requirements:
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Power BI (Desktop, Service, Gateway, Admin), delivering production datasets and reports at enterprise scale.
• Advanced data modeling and DAX expertise; strong command of Incremental Refresh, composite models, and performance tuning via external tools.
• Production delivery with Power BI Report Builder for Paginated Reports (pixel‑perfect), including parameterized reports and scheduled distributions.
• Experience implementing RLS/OLS, AAD group‑based access, and collaborating on data governance/DLP practices.
• Strong SQL and understanding of enterprise data pipelines; ability to work with data engineers on connectivity/auth (including MFA/Conditional Access considerations).
• Proven Power BI Administration skills: capacities, workspaces, gateway clusters, deployment pipelines, tenant settings, auditing, and monitoring.
• Experience with Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, ALM Toolkit, and Azure/On‑prem gateways.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for BI (deployment pipelines, parameterization, environment variables).
• Exposure to broader Azure analytics stack (e.g.,/Data Lake/Databricks) and DevOps practices.
• Past work optimizing app performance and capacity utilization, with evidence of handling user complaints and scaling actions.
