POSITION PURPOSE:
Under the supervision of the Dental Front Office Supervisor, the Treatment Plan Coordinator will ensure all necessary documentation and paperwork is present and up to date allowing patients to have the best experience, discuss with patients their treatment plans, financial obligations, schedule patients, verify insurances, answer phones and be a back up to the Dental Front Office Reception when appropriate. The Treatment Plan Coordinator ensures efficient and effective flow of patients during scheduled clinic hours through joint planning and problems solving with the Clinic staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Verifies completion of services in order to properly schedule next phase of patient care.
Identifies missing treatment phases and completed treatment for continuity of care and collaborates with back-office staff to formulate treatment plans.
Masters various registration processes in order to facilitate accurate and efficient registration and maximize collections.
Performs telephone and face-to-face triage as necessary for all patients assigned to team.
Provides patient support via telephone and schedules patient visits.
Supports other team members as necessary.
Records receipt of fees in practice management system.
Collaborates with Billing Department for accurate patient collections when necessary.
Attends required meetings and pursues growth by attending trainings.
Other duties as assigned by leadership.
PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES:
Strictly adheres to the ethics and Code of Conduct as established by the American Dental Association, Oregon State Board of Dental Examiners, and Aviva Health.
Displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment to completing assignments efficiently and timely. Works with minimal supervision and exercises sound judgment and attention to detail.

Promotes positive customer relations and service to both internal and external customers in a non-discriminatory, confidential, professional, and friendly manner that builds dignity for each individual person.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or equivalent education.
Must possess knowledge of Practice Management and Electronic Dental Records.
Able to understand dental procedure coding and familiar with dental terminology.
Knowledge of collection procedures and laws preferred.
Must be able to type 40WPM.
One-year clerical experience in a dental care setting preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to perform the following physical requirements:
Position is in-person during standard office hours but may occasionally work extended or weekend hours. May travel to outlying dental offices.
Remain in a stationary position 95% of the day to perform administrative duties.
Operate computer and phone 95% of the day.
Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and accurately so others will understand; ability to interact with patients and staff clearly.
Work indoors in heat-controlled environment 100% of the day.
OSHA Exposure Category – Category #2: The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
