Job Summary:
The Deli Team Member (Cook Focus) is responsible for preparing and cooking food items, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen area, and providing excellent customer service. This role ensures all food is cooked properly, presented well, and served in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook deli menu items (hot foods, fried items, sandwiches, etc.) according to recipes and company standards
Operate kitchen equipment such as fryers, grills, ovens, and slicers safely
Monitor food quality, freshness, and temperature throughout the cooking process
Keep cooking and prep areas clean, organized, and stocked
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
Assist with food prep, portioning, and packaging for display or customer orders
Restock ingredients and supplies as needed
Work with team members to ensure smooth and efficient service
Provide friendly and helpful service to customers when needed
Qualifications:
Previous cooking or food service experience preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Basic understanding of food safety practices
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25–50 lbs
Work Environment:
Fast-paced deli/kitchen setting
Exposure to hot equipment, sharp tools, and food preparation areas
