About the opportunity:

We are seeking a highly experienced DeFi Ecosystem Strategist to identify opportunities, develop a roadmap, and drive the growth of our DeFi ecosystem on World Chain. You will leverage your deep understanding of the DeFi industry, your network of contacts within blue-chip DeFi protocols to attract top-tier DeFi protocols and increase Total Value Locked (TVL). The ideal candidate understands that DeFi is not a one-size-fits-all solution and can tailor a DeFi growth strategy aligned with the curatorial nature of the World Chain ecosystem and its user base.

Your key responsibilities:

• Conduct a thorough analysis of the current DeFi ecosystem on World Chain and pinpoint specific gaps in the ecosystem, such as missing DeFi primitives, or underserved user segments.

• Develop a detailed roadmap for growing the DeFi ecosystem, including specific initiatives, target protocols, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Implement strategies to drive TVL growth, such as designing liquidity incentive programs, protocol deployment grants, and comms campaigns to amplify the effect and improve the ROI. This includes tracking relevant metrics to measure the success of ecosystem growth initiatives and incentive campaigns. This also includes, refining, iterating, and optimizing the campaigns based on past performance.

• Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective execution of the ecosystem growth strategy.

• Proactively identify and engage with leading DeFi protocols to encourage them to deploy on World Chain. This includes building relationships and providing technical support for integration as well as working closely with them on strategizing liquidity incentive campaigns.

• Track and report on the progress of ecosystem growth initiatives, providing regular updates to senior management.

• Identify and mitigate risks associated with DeFi projects, ensuring the security and reliability of financial operations to help safeguard the financial well-being of our users.

About you:

• Extensive experience in the DeFi industry, with a deep understanding of various DeFi protocols, concepts, and technologies.

• Proven track record of successfully growing DeFi ecosystems on other blockchain platforms, with quantifiable results (e.g., TVL growth, number of protocols deployed).

• Strong network of contacts within the DeFi industry and experience working directly with blue-chip DeFi protocols

• Experience designing and executing incentive campaigns that drove ecosystem growth.

• Demonstrated experience defining KPIs and metrics for ecosystem growth and incentive campaigns

• Proven ability to utilize data and metrics for periodic monitoring, reporting, and iterative refinement of strategies and campaigns.

• Demonstrated understanding that DeFi is not a one-size-fits-all solution, with the ability to tailor a DeFi growth strategy aligned with the curatorial nature of the World Chain ecosystem and its user base.

• Cross-functional experience and the ability to align stakeholders across different departments and teams in a remote work environment.

Bonus points:

• Existing relationships with key decision-makers at major DeFi protocols.

• Experience within the Ethereum ecosystem generally and within the Superchain specifically.

• Active participation in the DeFi community and governance.

• Geographic Preference: Based in the EU or US (ET time zone).
