Job Description
Janes is recruiting an Analyst in the domain of Aerospace & Defence, who will be responsible for maintaining and updating market forecast and company intelligence databases in an analytically rigorous fashion, taking into account industry insight, as well as related geopolitical, military, and economic factors. Other responsibilities will include:
• Conduct market research (qualitative and quantitative), statistical analyses, and business intelligence to support extrapolation of company intelligence
• Identifying and analyzing contracts in aerospace and defence domain.
• Monitoring news insights and press releases with respect to opportunities of defence procurement and policies.
• To be able to identify gaps in the existing database and be able to conduct monthly audits with respect to various parameters of the database.
• To be able to sift through large amounts of data in excel and be able to parse information.
• Prepare monthly reports documenting specific database changes and maintain worklogs.
• Conduct extensive research to identify companies under Aerospace and Defence domain, understand its structure, products and business. Evaluate inter-company relationships, their operational branches and presence worldwide.
• Analyse company events like organizational restructure - divestment, spin off, merger, business acquisitions, joint venture, and its impact on ownership changes.
• Validation: cross-referenced data like manufacturing facilities with types of equipment or products, business segments covered for military purposes.
• Report Writing: Creating comprehensive company and country-wise industry profiles that effectively communicate research findings like financial, business segments, and strategic insights to key stakeholders.
• Organizing: Work allocation to team based on priority requests received, keeping SLA target.
Skills sets and experience
• Computer competency includes an advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint applications. Experience in visualization tools such as Power BI would be an added advantage.
• Proven record of undertaking project orientated work to strict deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a logical approach to problem solving. A must have.
• Ability to quickly adapt and work with new information technology applications. Experience with artificial intelligence and understanding of doing research with AI will be an added advantage.
• Education: Graduation in a related field.
